Turning product documents into ready-to-use submittal packages

Users assemble documentation for any of 210 products from a saved draft, the package builds in the background from a library of 7,844 documents, and every package can be retrieved later.
The problem
Architects and contractors need submittal packages that combine product documents from Balco's library of 7,844 documents across 210 products. Assembling them by hand meant repeating the same selection work for every project.
The work
Rebuilt the submittal builder on the existing WordPress site: autosaving drafts, background PDF assembly with cover pages and bookmarks, saved-package retrieval and versioning, private storage for generated files, admin reporting, and a Salesforce integration for the leads the builder produces.
The result
A complete package assembles in the background from a saved draft, drawing on 7,844 documents across 210 products, and every package is retrievable and versioned instead of rebuilt from scratch.
Notes
- This is a separate phase from the 2025 website stabilization work listed below, which restored the original builder after a failed platform migration.
- Generated PDFs are stored privately and served through the application rather than from a public uploads folder.
